Salon founders Sheila Johnson and Sally Davies were both established hairdressers in Cardiff as well as having experience of working overseas and London.

Sands Hairdressing was opened in 1998 and the salon has just celebrated 10 years in business. Three stylists in the Sands team have been with the salon since day one.

The salon's name was derived from S and S. From the outset, Sheila and Sally had a strong vision of how they wanted their salon to be. The salon has evolved by keeping close to its original goal of creating an environment in which to provide the client with an experience beyond the service itself, providing them with a relaxing atmosphere and offering value added services i.e. free make-up finishing touch, stress relieving scalp massage and hand ritual, all using Aveda products.
